Costello gets some credit here for voting with the progressives. Weller was non-voting.

Again the leadership as represented by Emanuel and Durbin refuse to stand up to, or at least force the Republicans to take ownership of the Iraq war. Here are the full House votes.

Update: Even Pelosi voted against it!!!
Update 2 the list after the jump:

shame on all of them (4.00 / 2)
And thank you, Jeff, for keeping us informed.  I had intended to look up exactly how the Illinois delegation voted, and then thought -- just go to PSB, Jeff will have the update!  :-)

Basic stuff: The common wealth should be used for the common good, not to enrich the well-connected few.

Warmonger Mark Kirk will dedicate Northbrook cannon (0.00 / 0)
Mark Kirk will dedicate the American Legion Northbrook cannon on Memorial Day in Northbrook.  This shows Kirk's true colors as a supporter of war and the icons of warfare. This will take place on Memorial Day at 1pm at the Northbrook Village hall. This would be an excellent opportunity to ask Kirk about his war votes.

A guy who loves Bush's war so much also would be the one who would dedicate a cannon sponsored by a group of right wing lunatics in Northbrook.  Remember, this is not 1947 anymore.

I truly don't understand (4.00 / 1)
the political calculation here -- 82% of this country hates this war, and wants us out.  Only 28% of the country think Bush is doing a good job.  The rest of us hate him and hate his war. The Republicans have demonstrated over and over again they don't care about the troops (see: Walter Reed scandal, lack of armour for troops in Iraq, dismissing the need for a pay increase/increase in survivor benefits, etc. etc.).  So why this need to capitulate?  Stupid stupid stupid. The Republicans own this war, but so many Democrats have failed to stand up and say NO.  William is right: we need better Democrats.

Anyone thinking of running against Rahm? It would be nice to see a credible candidate stand up.

is a list of district numbers and names. Did you try to use color coding? Didn't come through on my computer -- all text is in my default yellow.

I'm running IE on Windows XP Pro. But you didn't ask the right question: What is your default color scheme? Like most visually limited people, I have my color scheme set to High Contrast #1 (yellow text on black backgroudn).

And no, the new version didn't change the colors at all. Still all yellow. I'm not sure what it takes to get IE to display text in your specified color rather than the user's default color. Although I would think that if you're overriding other people's default black it would also override my default yellow.

Of course, as I hope you're aware, forcing black text without forcing a particular background color simply renders the text invisible on my screen.

Interesting (0.00 / 0)
So when there is a new comment the red bracketed word NEW appears as what color to you? and the blue in the date and time of a comment is what color. So is all text yellow?

I assume you have bold and italic and underline.

In the next version of that table I was intending that blue would be good, red bad and bold Democrat. So for you maybe I could use Blue underlined as good. Not underlined bad and bold Democrat. Italic would be not voting.

Lets see if that works.

What I See (0.00 / 0)
[new] appears in yellow. The date appears in white because that's part of the link and I have IE set to show unvisited links in white and visited links in light green.

What you suggest sounds like it should work. Except that for some reason I'm not actually seeing underlining. Don't know why that wouldn't show up. Maybe IE doesn't supprot underlining?

There is no underlining there to see yet. n/c (0.00 / 0)

Shocked!! (4.00 / 4)
Emanuel and Bean voted with Roskam. Shocked, I tell you!

Way to not look weak there guys. Capitulation is a strong stance. We wouldn't want any critisism from Mr. 28% approval. That might be devastating, given how credible on Iraq he is and how supportive the polls show Americans are for his policy. Good heavens we avoided any barbs from Dick Cheney! His popularity and credibility on this matter are just unassailable.

And if criticized there would have been no way we could have respond. No way at all I tell you. There would have been no opportunity to highlight just how mismanaged this war was, or how the GOP own it, or just how ill prepared it has left us at home. Nope. Nothing we could have said. The GOP would have killed us with this.

At least now more of our American troops can die instead (that's sarcasm just in case you're also to damn stupid to figure that out).
